An existing commercial building is kept and recast as a warmer public arrival. A planted timber pergola shades the entry, benches, and accessible parking; wood siding and a gabled porch give the box a human scale. Skylights and a clerestory bring daylight into the core. The structure stays; the new work is canopy, planting, and light.
