We're thrilled to announce that Held Architecture is now an official Accelerator Partner with the Passive House Accelerator!

This milestone aligns perfectly with our Charlotte-based mission: designing beautiful, functional, sustainable, and people-centered buildings rooted in innovation and regional context.
Passive House Accelerator is a premier hub for zero-carbon building innovation, sharing Passive House knowledge with architects, builders, developers, and policymakers. As partners, we're committed to "building better, building cleaner," delivering lower energy costs, superior indoor air quality, durability, and spaces where people feel truly comfortable and don't want to leave. As Kristina Held, AIA, founder of Held Architecture, shared in the announcement:
“We like to build buildings that are really well done. They are quality buildings. But, in addition, people feel good when they’re there. They don’t want to leave.”
This drives our work from Passive House-certified homes like the off-grid Net Zero Nevils Creek (inspired by NC tobacco barns) and the Victorian-style Davidson Passive House, to commercial projects like the biophilic Pester PAC USA headquarters (with preserved trees and minimal impact), and to adaptive reuse projects like The Cannery in Salem, Oregon.
Through this partnership, we're amplifying high-performance design in the Southeast's hot, humid climate, collaborating on education, thought leadership, and projects that blend sustainability with human comfort. Read the full announcement and learn more about the Accelerator Partner program here:
